My 11 year old got a Cricut Maker for Christmas and we have been spending the last two months making ALL the things. I mean all of them.

Mardi Gras Day is Just another Tuesday here in Pensacola!

So I decided I needed a Mardi Gras shirt. Not just any shirt would do, I looked and looked and nothing seemed to fit. So I made my own.

This is going to be my silent protest for Mardi Gras day since Pensacola celebrates Mardi Gras but the actual day is just another Tuesday here. Talk about Culture SHOCK coming from New Orleans where Mardi Gras is EVERYTHING. After three years I’m still not used to that, AT ALL.

And since I am learning how to play with my new toy and using my Photoshop skills, I made an SVG for those of you that don’t life in New Orleans but still celebrate Mardi Gras to download. After all It’s Just Another Tuesday!

What You Need To Make This Shirt

So you’re going to need the following materials to get started!

How to Create Your Tshirt

Once you have downloaded the SVG file and upzipped you, you’ll need to upload it into Cricut Design Space.

Once it’s uploaded you need to upgroup the whole SVG so that you can regroup it to cut properly.

Working with SVG file in Cricut Design Space
Once you get the file uloaded into Circut Design Space – ungroup it.

After you ungroup it you’ll need to go in and group all the like things together but attaching and welding them. So Another, It’s Just, Tuesday and each little fleur de les. Once it’s all attached, you can resize it to whatever size you would like. Since my Easy Press is only a 9×9, I tend to keep things that size to make it easier to put on a shirt.

Attach and weld each piece in Cricut Design Space and then size to your liking.

Then click make it and adjust as you like on your mats, remember to mirroe your images if you are putting this on a shirt and cut out your vinyl.

Don’t forget to mirror your images for shirts.

Once everything is cut out, you can weed your vinyl and get it ready to go on the shirt. Just remember the Tuesday is layered on top of the work Another (you can see the cut outs in the word to show you where to place the word Tuesday). Since they are layered started with Another and then worked my way up and down from there.

I cover my design and shirt with parchment paper and press each layer, once everything is done, I cover the design with parchment paper and press it on the front and back of the shirt again.

My heat press setting was 350 for 30 seconds, which seems to work for me..

Happy Mardi Gras and have fun creating your shirt!
