Christmas in New Orleans is one of the most magical times of year. The weather is usually awesome, the city is decorated in festive lights and there are events to make your smile and make family memories everywhere you turn. The 2018 season is Celebration in the Oaks’ 32nd anniversary!

Celebration in the Oaks in City Park is one of the most spectacular holiday lights festivals in the country, with more than 165,000 visitors pouring into the Park to see the magical winter spectacle. City Park’s famous oaks are swathed in hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights and breathtaking light displays are scattered throughout 25 acres of the Park, including the Botanical Garden, Storyland, and Carousel Gardens Amusement Park.

Celebration in the Oaks will be open November 23rd-25th and November 30th-January 1st. CITO will be closed November 26th-29th, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Hours are Sunday-Thursday 6pm-10pm and Friday & Saturday 5pm-11pm.

Cost of admission is $10, children under 3 and Friends of City Park are FREE. You can purchase a straight to the gate ticket with an entrance in Storyland and unlimited ride band for $28.  Rides are $5 for the train, $4 for a single ride ticket and $18 for an unlimited ride band.

NOLA ChristmasFest, one of the largest indoor holiday events on the Gulf Coast, will begin Thursday, December 20, and run through Monday, December 31, 2018, at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

The sixth annual NOLA ChristmasFest is bigger and better than ever with an additional 35,000 square feet to accommodate new attractions and make room for more family-friendly holiday fun.

NOLA ChristmasFest 2018 will once again feature Pay One Price ticketing for the New Orleans area’s only real ice skating rink and ice slides, holiday characters, amusement rides, themed inflatables, arts and crafts, and much more . The Gingerbread House exhibit, Kringle Carousel, Winter Whirl, Snowball Fight Area, Snowy Summit Climbing Wall and other favorites will be back under one roof at this year’s NOLA ChristmasFest.

New this year are Breakfast with Santa events, Bouncy, “the World’s Tallest Snowman,” and Snowzilla Jr., providing attendees with a thrilling slide down a 90’ ramp. Other attractions such as polar golf, curling, and a step-inside snowglobe for selfie photos will be added to NOLA ChristmasFest this year. The expanded floorplan will also provide ample space for family gatherings, birthday parties, and corporate events. This year, in honor of their service, members of the U.S. Military and First Responders enjoy half-priced admission to NOLA ChristmasFest on Fridays (restrictions apply – see website for details).

Keepsake photos with Santa will be available for purchase through 3pm Christmas Eve. Face painting, edible cookie decorating, food and drink, and a selection of holiday gifts will also be offered for purchase.

NOLA ChristmasFest, a 12-day special holiday event based in downtown New Orleans, will display thousands of dazzling lights and dozens Christmas trees decorated by local businesses. The event will be be open every day from December 20-31 including special hours on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Even if the weather outside is frightful, it’s always delightful inside NOLA ChristmasFest! Convenient, nearby parking will be available for visitors and locals alike, and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of very affordable Papa Noel hotel rates to enhance their holiday stays.
